woodland spring walk

I made the most amazing discovery this weekend: A camera that I'd basically given up on (it's a Casio Exilim, a hand-me-down from my mom, who happens to be the queen of digital cameras) actually has a use: macro flower shots! It takes the worst pix when not on this setting, but with one press of a button--just look at that bokeh! Sweet.

So I thought we should go for a walk through the woods in spring. So pretty! And you have to get down low. Spring is the time when the smart, tiny plants come out. They hide down there on the woodland floor and beg you to take a closer look. And you totally oblige, because you're starved for floral eye candy. At the height of summer, you'd never give these little guys a second glance. But right now, they're the whole show.

It's totally true about spring flowers being smart and full of personality. We love them until we're seduced away by the floozies of June, and then end up broke and out on our asses by September.

Thank you for your sweet and funny comment about my news! YAY!
