Today I enter my mid-30's. Oh, I'm so not feeling it. 34, ick. I feel like these flowers, all tinged with sunset, blown-out petals, wilty stems. Sigh. At least the flowers still have color on their side. I think I need to use more sunblock. Or bronzer? I.D.K. Quick, someone tell me something good about 34!
Part 1: you will always be almost three years younger than me, and therefore always young. (don't point out the flaw in the logic, that would be insubordination from someone as young as you.)
Part 2: it's my 15-year college reunion this weekend. having dinner at Paradiso tonight. do you want to come have sangria for your birthday with three awesome women you don't know, plus me? You can spend the whole time smiling to yourself that all of us are older than you?
Part 3: you're a perennial flower. maybe you won't live forever, but you'll keep blooming until you do. honest.
Part 4: happy birthday. :-)
Part 5: 34 is actually kind of awesome because you're old enough to know better. no one's going to dupe you into paying for their canceled wedding venue, for instance. you can say, "screw that!" with impunity and feel no guilt whatsoever.
Part 6: oprah says 50 is the new 40, which means 30 is the new 20, so really, you're 24, only without all the bare midriffs and text messaging. So quit complaining.
Hi Cassie ... I just stopped by your blog to say hi ... I just read your post on Heart Handmade (a few weeks ago, I'm a bit behind on my blog reading) and it really spoke to me! I think every blogger/crafter/artist feels that way, and it is comforting to know how others deal with it. Looking forward to seeing more of your blog!
Lovely flower! just came back from Butchard Garden in Victoria. Lots of beautiful flowers there. Once there, you will feel that age is not really important factor.
Something good about turning 34...in a few years you will fondly look back at 34 and wish you could be 34 again. Honestly! Looking back, I think it might have been my favorite age. Not that I'm THAT much older, but old enough to now appreciate { and miss } my mid 30s. : )

Happy Birthday, Cassie. I have a year on you (plus two months), so there's something to celebrate.
Age is an attitude, my dear. Think young. At least that's what I'm aiming for these days. :)
I'm not too far behind you, I'll be 32 on Sat. Happy Birthday!! My hubby is 34 and he acts more immature than I do, so it doesn't matter your age :)
happy birthday! i think mid-30s starts at 35 so you're safe another year;)
Awwww, thanks you guys! You're the best. You all made me smile. :)
Well I'm 34 and pregnant with my last baby that I wasn't supposed to be able to get pregnant with, so that shows you how kick ass we still are at 34:)
